WONDERLAND CROSS / PA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP

Stellar results in the PA State Championship Race!
Congratulations go to Mike Laub for 2nd Place in Masters 45+ and Janice Morris for 3rd Place in Women’s B !

What do you get when you "cross" a coating of wet snow with the rolling hills and grassy fields of East Lampeter Township Park in Lancaster PA.? Why classic cyclocross conditions of course! What better conditions for the last race of the year and the PA State Championships?

Heading out for warmups on the snow covered course comments were heard ranging from "this will be interesting" to "we must be nuts". Yes, all very true. Warmup laps proved the course to slippery at best, made even more interesting by 3 sets of double barriers, two barriered run-ups, and an unrideable "sand pit". A nice light CX bike quickly doubled it's weight as brakes, derailleurs and wheels were packed with balls of slush/mud/grass.

Team Mountainside Results:

Brent Shultz prevailed in a duel for 11th place on the final uphill and barrier in a Men’s C field of 19 competitors with a time of 34:41, delivering his best CX performance to date.

Janice Morris had a solid ride in Women’s B, capturing 3rd in 34:51.

Mike Laub had a great ride, managing to place 2nd in Master’s 45+ in a field of 14 in 46:43, despite being caught up in a first lap crash when Mike Hebe rolled a tubular. Nice ride Mike!
