Iron Hill, August 16, Lum's Pond Triathlon, August 17

This weekend Mike Laub, Martin Kell, and Sarah Lichtenwalner raced Iron Hill in Delaware for the mountainside race team. In the elite XC men's category, Mike had a good race, finishing 11th. He felt good throughout the race, and finished strong. Martin had a tough day, battling with his chainring a few times and also had issues with his front fork. This probably did not feel good on the one rocky fast downhill. Despite the mechanical issues, Martin finished 15th. Sarah competed in the 4 hr enduro, winning for the women with 7 laps completed. This win for Sarah clinched the MASS enduro series championship.

Sarah competed in Lum's pond sprint triathalon then on sunday, which was 15 minutes down the road from Iron Hill in Delaware. Luckily, the course was pretty flat, so back to backs were not as bad as it could have been. The course was a 1/2 mile swim, 19.5 mile bike, and 3.1 mile run. Sarah finished 2nd in the 30-34 women's category in a time of 1:32.00, 25 seconds off 1st place.

Brent, great job - that new bike gave you that final edge! Hey, I didn't know you put ZIP wheels on that bike. (I mean the TT bike). Anyway, outstanding.
