Race Report: D and Q Summer SIzzler

Saturday was the D and Q Summer Sizzler in Sewell NJ. I (Martin) was the only member of the Mountain Side team racing today. Many of the other members were busy running a fund raiser at the bike swap at Mountainside. Thanks for taking a weekend off from racing and doing that.
This was my first time ever doing this race and wasn't sure what to expect, but once I arrived and did a preride of the 5.5 mile course I knew I would like it. The course was very fast and consisted of twisty single track with some short power climbs nothing major and a few sandy sections. When the race started I found myself in a fast group riding strong and worked my way to the front. I was riding awesome but didn't know how well until I caught another ride who told me I was in 4th. I kept my pace for the next 3 laps and held my position finishing 4th. I was super pumped with my finish, that was the best I had ever ridden in a MASS race. Hopefully I can keep it up next weekend at the Tour de Tykes in Danville PA. Hope to see all the Mountainside team there.
